Delpro innovation from experience

Innovation, attention to detail and practical experience of the needs of converters, printers and packaging companies are the hallmarks of the Delpro service.
Established in 1975, the company can boast a team of highly qualified people, who personally oversee a project from design through to commissioning on products ranging from bespoke coating, laminating and pre-preg machines to custom-designed specialist components.
Not least, in these times of economy, this in-depth experience has also been brought to bear through assessments of customers’ production lines leading to a combination of machinery "tweaks" and the retro-fit of ancillary equipment to improve both throughput and quality. In one such recent example, web tension and guidance was improved and, whereas previously the machine was running at 300-400 metres/minute, the Delpro adjustments enabled a constant 500 metre/minute speed.
Typical of the Delpro design approach is technology recently introduced that allows quick, repeatable gap setting and control on any make of coater or laminator. Unlike most other systems, fine adjustment, to an accuracy of ± 1 micron, can be made, backlash free and under full load. To achieve this, the gap setting and blade positioning mechanism incorporates precision linear bearings and backlash free ball-screws. Adjustment is made either manually or by servo-motors with closed loop feedback from a coat-weight monitor. Already, over 30 coaters and laminators throughout the world are using this system processing a variety of substrates and coatings.
As with all Delpro equipment, specific needs can be met with Delpro engineers working in partnership with a customer to establish the most appropriate and cost-effective solution. Machines and equipment are fully assembled and tested in the Delpro workshop prior to delivery ensuring that on-site installation is speedy and trouble free.
